Band
Zipper is an acoustic and electric rock cover band covering songs from all generations. Zipper starts the night off playing a few tunes acoustically, much like Mtv's "Unplugged" series back in the 90's and rock the place with our many choices of danceable sing-a-long tunes that we all know and love.

Are we a rock band?  Are we a party band?
Our roots are in Rock and roll... but we've steered our song choices so that we can cover a wide variety of venues and tastes.  From Jersey Beach dance and sing-along venues, to bike-friendly places "Wow, are they playing Aqualung?!"... we got ya covered.

Below are quick bios on the band.   Simply, George Almond started Zipper with the idea for a new project...   Being well connected in the South Jersey band community via his Taproom Open Mics, George picked guys he felt were at the top of their craft, and would gel well together.   He did good.

Mark Zipper - Lead Vocals
Not only does Mark have a voice with tone and range that alloys Zipper to cover many diffrent types and generations of tunes, but he is an excellent frontman who has a natural ability to interact with the crowd and keep them entertained. Marks previous experience consists of fronting bands such as Night Prowler and Free Beer Band...









Bob Weintraut - Guitar / Backing Vocals
Bob has the talent and creative ability to deliver an excellent performance on either acoustic or electric guitar of any song Zipper brings his way. Showmanship is also within Bob as he proves when he plays guitar over his head and/or behind his back. Bob has tons of experience with performing, recording, and teaching, and has been doing this since the glory days of South Jersey bands.












Vince Collotti
With his ability to be all over the bass or lay down a simple groove, Zipper is very fortunate to have the talents of Vince.  Vince is the "go to guy" if you need a fill in bass player. Vince moonlights in other bands, such as Mama Rox and Paranoid.










George Almond
Drumming since '88, George has provided the back beat and groove behind bands such as Razorz Edge and Orcus before moving to Georgia and graduating from The Atlanta Institute of Music in 2000. Upon his return to NJ, George has been running/hosting open mics, including the well known Taproom Thursday open Mic (2006-2010), and his new Monday Night open mic at the Rocking Stone.
